Finn Design Group (FDG) was established in 2004 and has a fully staffed office located in Pleasanton, California. FDG offers a broad range of structural engineering services on commercial, industrial, infrastructure, institutional, and residential projects including design and construction phase services, seismic evaluations and retrofits, structural condition assessments, and peer reviews. We are licensed in California and twenty other states, and have worked with clients all across the United States and Canada. FDG also has professional staff resources available to design a broad range of mechanical systems including HVAC, process piping, and cryogenic systems. The company is certified as a local Small Business by the Alameda County, the State of California, and the Federal General Services Administration.

We are proficient in using current structural analysis and drafting software as well as developing in-house tools to streamline design of common elements.

Knowledge

Finn Design Group’s staff has expert knowledge of all major Codes that govern construction in California, including the International/California Building Code, NFPA, FEMA, NEHRP, ATC, ASCE, OSHA, ACI, AISC, AISI, AF&PA, AWWA, AASHTO, and Caltrans Documents. We utilize a variety of state-of-the-art structural analysis computer programs, as well as custom analysis and design software developed in-house.

Education

Our staff consists of a group of highly skilled individuals that collectively possess Master’s degrees in Structural Engineering from respected universities across the country, including Cornell University, the University of Delaware, and Santa Clara University.
