The standby Generator Plant facility includes a 7,000 square foot building housing various electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, load banks, and four standby diesel generators. The plant supplies emergency power to the entire 25 acre site through an underground distribution system via four substations.
Services included the Structural Design for substantial modifications to three existing substations, the Structural Design of the new fourth substation, and the Structural Design for the new generator building structure which consists of a metal roof over steel framing, concrete masonry walls, and a concrete slab on grade. A system of trenches was incorporated into the floor to facilitate both piping and containment.
Services provided during the Construction Document Phase included civil and structural drawings, cost estimates and a Design Analysis report.
